Seminar with Grandmaster Yang Jun

Our seminar with Master Yang Jun on October 3-5, 2025 was a tremendous success. Fifty people signed up including  participants from all over North America. Our two special excursions provided an excellent Yukon introduction to our visitors from afar. We received much positive feedback about the venue, the organization and above all, Master Yang's excellent and inspiring instruction.

About Master Yang Jun

Yang Jun is a 6th generation Yang family direct descendant of Yang Luchan, the founder of Yang style tai chi and the 5th generation inheritor of Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan. Master Yang Jun began training at the age of 5 with his grandfather. Later, he assisted his grandfather at seminars in China. After graduating from Shanxi University in 1989 with a degree in physical education, Master Yang Jun travelled with his grandfather to help teach internationally.

In 1998, Master Yang Jun and Grandmaster Yang Zhenduo created the International Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association. Its mission was to unite Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan practitioners and to promote a system for sharing the Yang family’s standard of practice worldwide for the benefit of humankind. Master Yang Jun left China in 1999 and moved to Seattle in order to develop the association internationally. He was the first Yang family member to spread his family’s art in the West.

At the 2009 International Tai Chi Chuan symposium, Grandmaster Yang Zhenduo officially named Master Yang Jun the 5th generation direct-line inheritor of Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan. Master Yang's greatest wish is to unite practitioners in China and the West into one big family where, despite national borders and cross-cultural differences, we are all linked through our love of tai chi chuan.
